US footwear designers Yuketen has launched its latest seasonal collection, made to order and exclusive to Up There in Australia. Each pair works with an aesthetic that lies somewhere between the dressier and more casual. The run works with mature colorways, natural finishes and rough cuts. Baxter continues to celebrate their 45th with a new razor featuring Hart steel blade and a Makr sleeev. “The Hart Steel blade is predominately a hand made product, and all of the processes are completed in Northern Michigan by skilled artisans…Genuine Shell Cordovan is the art of tanning at its finest.  More than just a color, it’s a very specific leather, from a particular part of a horsehide.  The irregular oval shaped shells are tanned, stuffed, shaved, and then polished. Trick by Sakura Adachi

A great space saving design for the bookish nerds among us.
Sakura Adachi’s “Trick” is manufactured by Campeggi and fuses two chairs and a table to form a modular bookcase. With a simple movement, the shelving becomes a simple dinning table for two, or a clean workspace.
Adachi was born in Japan and received her MA in Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design.

A Continuous Lean: Inside Horween Leather

Aside from his role at A Continous Lean, Michael Williams’ agency work at Paul + Williams led him to the Horween Leather factory in Chicago. Documenting the production process for cordovan leather which would eventually make its way into the Wolverine 1000 Miles 721 LTD Boots, a series of photos are now being shared by A Continuous Lean. As one of the few remaining leather factories in the United States, Horween has become a hot commodity as brands look to maintain a certain level of authenticity and support with American-made goods.
